THE SCOPE

What we build.

Connection of two existing systems for one one-way flow, up to three documented API endpoints and one authentication method per system.

This service is suited to…

  • Automatically pass data from one tool to another.
  • Avoid re-entering data in a clearly identified flow.
  • Have a documented connection between two accessible APIs.
ILLUSTRATIVE USE CASE

Example scope: an approved request in a source tool creates a record in a destination tool. The flow is one-way; fields, triggers and API endpoints are agreed in advance.

What is included

  • Mapping exchanged fields
  • Authentication and agreed data flow
  • Logging and handling of common errors
  • Checks using test data
  • Code and operating documentation

Outside this scope

  • Undocumented APIs, reverse engineering or unavailable access
  • Provider subscriptions and quota overages
  • Two-way synchronisation and large historical backfills

How your project unfolds.

01

Review the APIs

We review documentation, authentication methods and both systems’ limits. Access must be authorised and available.

02

Define the exchange

Each transferred field, format and transformation rule is defined. Data unnecessary to the flow is excluded.

03

Build the connector

The agreed flow is developed with logging and common error handling. Retry arrangements are documented according to scope.

04

Check with test data

Representative cases, invalid data and error responses are checked before handing over code and instructions.

What is checked before handover

  • Field mapping and the result in the destination system.
  • Behaviour when access is denied or a response is invalid.
  • Error traceability and agreed volume limits.

Final review scenarios and acceptance criteria are specified in the quote.

What you receive

Documented connector and verification scenario. Third-party API limits and terms continue to apply.

What to prepare

API documentation, test accounts, authorised access and sample data.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few details
before you decide.

Can an undocumented API be connected?

This scope assumes documented, accessible APIs. Missing documentation, restricted access or reverse engineering require a separate assessment.

Are future API changes covered?

The service covers the agreed state and scope. Provider changes, version migrations and ongoing adaptations require a separate agreement.
